The Property Sales Costa Del Sol Are Resuming
The property sales costa del sol are resuming, and it seems as though the appetite for luxury property is still strong. The Spanish coast continues to be a popular destination for buyers seeking luxury properties close to excellent golf courses, fantastic beaches, and picturesque villages. The region has a lot to offer, and despite the coronavirus pandemic, foreign demand for the Costa del Sol has not decreased.
The figures for property sales in Malaga and the rest of the Costa del Sol have bounced back, after a slow start to 2022. According to the Registrars Association, around 7,208 properties changed hands in the province in Q1. This includes new-build and resale sales.
Prices have also increased, with a number of areas recording brisk activity. Malaga city saw the highest yearly increase, as reported by valuation company Tinsa. This was followed by Benahavis and Estepona.
However, despite these gains, the overall price levels remain well below their 2007 peak. And as a result, many property developers have been reluctant to build at the same pace.
This has meant that the availability of luxury property in these areas remains limited, and prices have been rising accordingly. The situation will likely change when the supply of new-build properties starts to increase, but for now it appears as though the market is picking up steam again. Indeed, according to Idealista, 20% of homes went on the market in February and found a buyer within a week, whilst 56% took less than three months to sell. property sales costa del sol
